It's fun when you cooperate with friends and get out of the crowd of zombies by sneaky ways. But due to the dull shooting experience and repeated puzzles, it hardly ever satisfies me.

I enjoyed Overkill’s The Walking Dead but perhaps more as a concept. Playing with a friend makes the experience much more enjoyable; however, the price point is a concern given all the issues I had with the game. To this day, it doesn’t feel complete. Granted, it has the potential to be an AAA game but given its current state, The Walking Dead certainly feels like a budget title. Before you make the plunge (and I recommend you do strongly consider the purchasing the game), I’d recommend holding out until we see a price drop or when for it gets fine-tuned.

OVERKILL's The Walking Dead is a clever take on the series with a subtle mix of stealth and gunfights to survive the numerous foes of the lore. Sadly, the game is ruined by bugs, the lack of tutorial, the long loading times, and a lack of vocal chat and the balance problems.

Co-op zombie-splattering will never be devoid of fun, but Overkill's The Walking Dead is lacking in both the series' storytelling and technical polish.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is nothing but a random zombie shooter.

It channels the grit and desperation of the TV show well enough, but the prolonged development has ended in a co-op shooter that feels outdated and unexceptional.

Imagine reaching the final minutes of an hour-long mission only for your connection to drop and, in turn, your progress to be lost. Overkill’s The Walking Dead certainly stokes the player’s despair, but not the sort that its developers intended.

Alot of fun playing this! Hope they keep the updates coming. Been playing it with 4-other friends and we all enjoy it as a solid co-op.

Many reviewers hate that it is not the game they want, and the hate has continued to flow since they did not get what they want. Someone stated that this would be open world, but Overkill never said that. Now they hate it since it is not open world, go figure.

This is not L4D, unless you call all zombie games with 4 players L4D-clones. OTWD is not a shoot em up where you go in and slaughter everything. Well, you can, but that is not the objective. Stealth will make every map so much easier except when you defend your camp, then you can shoot as much as you like. It is a coop game, and you need to get help and be helpful to go through the maps.

It has a steep learning curve, and you need to see beyond the first mission. That mission is a tutorial, but Overkill forgot to tell you that when you start playing. That is not what this game is about. Sure, you need to defend your camp now and then, but there are several missions and beautiful maps to go through.

There are bugs and things that needs to be fixed, the human AI they need to work on. But I am sure they will. History shows that they do try and fix their games over time. But I have not seen anything yet that will break the game when I play it.

I have played this with both friends, randoms and solo. Still not that good in solo, but when in coop, this is bloody fun! Need a lot more practice with solo I think, and upgrade my weapons.

Do not buy this game and think that it will be like WWZ, it will not. If you have A LOT of zombies around you that you need to kill, then you should try another approach next time. Something went wrong :). Try this game if you want to improve your camp, weapons and be a sneaky zombie-killer that wants to kill off humans that threaten you and your camp. I believe that Overkill will support this game for several years, so it will not die as someone wrote.

And someone wrote that this was not story based? Then you have not made it through the tutorial... Try again.

It's a very hard game that requires some thinking and strategy as well as team-work. Ammo and Resources are scarce so you can't just run in with guns blazing. The more noise you make the more zombies you'll attract. Playing with friends, this is a very fun and rewarding game (I Always play on the hardest difficulty I might add).

Now, there are some issues, I'll admit that.
The biggest issue atm is that updating the game takes a loooong time, and when you start a new mission, you'll have to wait, sometimes Three-five minutes Before the match starts. Aside from those technical things, me or my friends have never had a crash or bad in-game performance, game runs very smooth.

One thing that I really hate about this game are the defend missions where you're supposed to defend your base from stupid NPCs with 1000x in Health, so they take like Three or four headshots! to kill. That's just bad game design. Unfortunately, there are Three missions of this type that you'll be forced to play in order to progress/unlock other missions, but just play them once and try to forget about them :). There is also one defense mission (the very first one) where you defend against incoming zombies, and that one is actually quite fun (on high difficulty, otherwise it's too easy).

The game is currently lacking an InGame voice chat, but that will be included in the update due this Thursday (29:th nov) so that will be a big help when playing with strangers (typing instructions and strategy in the heat of battle is just crazy).

There are tons of weapon and weapon modifications that you can unlock and there's quite a rich skill-tree. When doing missions, you'll loot the Environment for Resources and at the end of a mission you'll be rewarded Resources that can be used for camp upgrades and weapon modifications.

There's no real tutorial so casual players might be a bit Clueless in the beginning.

One mission usually takes under an hour to finish so it's great to just jump in, play a mission with some friends and then do something else.

This is not a perfect game, but it's fun and rewarding and it'll only get better in the coming months with additional missions, bug-fixes, features and content added by the developers.

What really pissed me off was it's claims to have Single Player. It doesn't really. Yes you can play the missions Solo with no AI bots and the game is completely impossible to pass the missions on your own. This is a total ZERO for solo players and a 5 for Multi, hence a 4. Think about a bad game, this game is not worth anything.
The team that made this game must commit "Seppuku" after this bomb.
